Pakistan Plans On Procuring Shenyang FC-31

PAKISTAN will reportedly purchase Shenyang FC-31 stealth fighter jets from China’s state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). According to Chinese media reports, the acquisition of these fifth-generation fighter jets by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) would significantly boost PAF capabilities and open the door to the international market for Chinese-made aircraft. PAF Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu reportedly stated that the FC-31 would enter PAF service in the near future. The single-seat, twin engine medium stealth fighter jet will be yet another Chinese addition to the Pakistani military inventory, who have been longstanding customers of Chinese materiel, most notably the Chengdu J-10C, JF-17 fighters, HQ-9BE long-range surface-to-air missile (SAM), HQ-16FE medium-range SAM, Type 054A guided missile frigates among them. shp/adj/dl (Pix:Xinhua)
